These are display boards — made to be looked at rather than paddled out. Some carry carved island topography set into resin water, some marine designs, and some are finished with Lichtenberg burning, where electricity is passed across the surface and allowed to find its own path before the scorched wood is sanded away and the channels filled with resin.
Sizes run from small wall boards up to six feet. Koa, mango and monkeypod are the usual woods, and any design here can be rebuilt at a different size.
